The Capital Media Advisory

Bespoke advisory for the institutions that carry the obligation

Risk, governance, compliance and financial advisory for Botswana banks, asset managers, parastatals and boards. Every engagement is scoped to the organisation in front of us, so there is no price list here. Tell us the problem and we will quote the work.

What we do

Seven practices, one standard of evidence

The same discipline that runs the Capital Intelligence platform runs the advisory work: every number traced to a primary source, every recommendation defensible to a regulator or a board, and nothing asserted that cannot be evidenced.

Risk management

Building and reviewing the risk framework: the register, the appetite statement, the controls that sit behind them, and the reporting that lets a board see exposure honestly. Includes market, credit, liquidity and operational risk for financial institutions.

Corporate governance

Board charters, committee structures, delegation of authority, and the governance reviews that regulators and shareholders increasingly ask to see evidenced rather than asserted.

Anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing

AML and CTF programme design and review against the Financial Intelligence Act: risk assessment, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring rules, suspicious transaction reporting, and the file that proves the programme works.

Data protection

Data protection compliance under Botswana's Data Protection Act: mapping what personal data an organisation holds and why, lawful basis, retention, consent, breach response, and the practical controls that make the policy true.

Compliance

Compliance frameworks, monitoring plans and regulatory gap analysis. Turning an obligation register into a calendar of tests someone actually runs, with findings that reach the board.

Training

Facilitated training for boards, executives and teams: economics and markets literacy, AML and CTF obligations, governance duties, and reading financial statements. Built on Botswana data and Botswana cases, not imported examples.

Consulting and financial advisory

Accountancy, tax compliance, financial modelling, valuation support and company secretarial work. The analytical engine behind Capital Intelligence, applied to one organisation's question.

How it works

From a first email to a fixed fee

01

Tell us the problem

A short email describing the organisation, the obligation or decision in front of you, and the timeline. No form, no sales sequence.

02

Scoping conversation

We establish what is actually needed, what evidence exists already, and where the real gap is. Often this call alone reframes the work.

03

Written proposal and quote

Deliverables, method, timeline and a fixed fee. You see exactly what you are buying before you commit.

04

Delivery

The work, with the reasoning shown. Every figure traced to a source, every recommendation defensible to a regulator or a board.

Why us

The Capital Media Advisory is led by Chilo Ketlhoafetse, a chartered certified accountant (ACCA) and Associate Certified Professional Accountant (BICA) with an MSc in Finance and Management. The practice sits alongside a working economic intelligence platform, which means the advice is informed by the same live Botswana data the platform publishes daily: the bond curve, the rate path, inflation by component, and the full Botswana Stock Exchange board. Advisory clients are never a source for editorial content, and editorial positions are never adjusted for advisory relationships.

Do you have a specific requirement for your entity?

Every engagement is quoted on scope, so the fastest route is a short email describing the organisation, the obligation or decision in front of you, and the timeline. We will come back with a scoping conversation and a written proposal.
